Personal History 

Spencer G. Williams was born in Twin Falls, Idaho the second son of Joseph and Betty Williams. The family later moved to the Lost River Valley and Arco where Spencer graduated from Butte County High School in 1966.

Spencer attended his first year of many college years at Utah State University at Logan, Utah and then transferred to the University of Idaho at Moscow, Idaho. He graduated in 1973 with a degree in Physical Education.

During his college years a call to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints took him to Ohio for two years.

He met his wife and sweetheart Valorie Horejs while student teaching in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1973. Their meeting was arranged by mutual friends. Yes, it was a blind date and within five weeks the happy couple were engaged and then married in the Logan Temple four months later.

After graduating from college, the family moved to Portland, Oregon where Spencer began his education at Western States Chiropractic College and graduated in 1978.

Dr. Williams opened his first office in Twin Falls in 1979. The present new building located at 340 Falls Ave. was designed and built by Dr. Williams in 1992.

Dr. and Mrs. Williams are the proud parents of five sons who sing together in a nationally known award winning a cappella group called “The Standards”.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Williams is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Idaho Association of Chiropractic Physicians. He served on the Board of directors of the Idaho Association of Chiropractic Physicians from 1983 to 1986 and was President of the South Central Idaho District, Idaho Assoc. of Chiropractic Physicians from 1985 to1981.

He served as Chairman of Idaho Chapter of the Professional Chiropractic Association from 1989 to1995 and as President of the Idaho Chapter of the American Chiropractic Scoliosis Foundation from 1991to1995

Dr. Williams is a member of the Parker Chiropractic Research Foundation and a Charter Member of Clinical Kinesiology Organization for Research and Education, C.K.O.R.E. and served as International President from 1991 to 1994.

Dr. Williams is a Charter Instructor for Environmental Stress Management and is Advanced Proficiency Rated in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique. He has received advanced training in Total Body Modification (TBM) and Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)..


Research Experience and Publications

Dr. Williams developed the format for Clinical Kinesiology manuals, developed 30 specific muscle tests and reflexes of the neck and spine, a Kinesiology Joint Regional Examination and Recording form "Specific Muscle Tests of the Neck and Low Back" and recorded an instructional video tape, Human Biodynamics, “Muscles of the Neck" Instructional manual, Human Biodynamics.

Special Awards

Dr. Williams was awarded Who's Who Among Professionals & Executives, 1993 Who's Who Among Outstanding Americans, 1994 for outstanding achievements. He was also awarded "Citizen of the year" Idaho State Police Association and the "Certification of Achievement" Idaho State Police in 1994 for his efforts in promoting seat belt safety through the “Buckle Up For Bucks” program in the community.

Community Activity

Dr. Williams was an original member of the Magic Valley Traffic Safety Coalition Task Force which promoted safety in the Magic Valley.

He developed the Buckle Up For Safety and Bucks program and served as its chairman. During the years of 1990-1997. The Buckle Up For Safety and Bucks program started in 1990 in an effort to raise the public awareness of the importance of wearing seat belts. At the time seat belt use averaged 28% in the Magic Valley at the time. Three years later the average seat belt use reached a high of 83% in Twin Falls. Twin Falls received a special award from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association for being the first city in Idaho to reach the goal of 70% seat belt use set by President George Bush. Twin Falls was also honored with a special Governors award for leading the State of Idaho in seat belt use.

Dr. Williams developed and served as President of the "Doctors Against Drugs" Scholarship Program. Local High School seniors were given the opportunity to present a 15 minute speech on the importance of staying drug and alcohol free at a speech contest. The contest was judged and the winner received a $500 scholarship and was then given the opportunity to present his talk to the local Junior High students in a special assembly.

Dr. Williams was the host of "Health Talk" weekly radio talk show on KTFI Radio from 1990-1997. Special guests were invited to participate in discussions concerning health care and current health care concerns in the local community.

He was active in promoting JUMP Company, a local community theater organization for youth and served as the lighting chairman for many years.

Hobbies

Dr. Williams enjoys snow skiing, hiking and camping, golf, racquet ball, theater lighting, and flying. His is a licensed pilot and is building his own airplane.
